Hey guys!!
Wow, it's been one hell of a ride! I'm very excited for this Final Tribal Council, but before I get to the details of my game I'd first like to thank Amanda for all the effort and energy she's put into this game. The game has definitely had its ups and its downs, and it wasn't always easy for her, but I am very thankful she continued this regardless of all the shit that happened. I hope when looking back on this game, we can all cherish the good moments. In the end, this IS the Ultimate Game, a game that concludes a great series that lots of people had a lot of fun with. Hopefully this Final Tribal will be enjoyable and Ultimate-Game worthy in order to end this series on a positive note.
Reflecting on my game, I believe I am here mainly because of three key factors: challenge wins, strong ties, and sheer luck. Let's start with the most obvious one. While coming into this game I didn't intend on immunity whoring, it can't be denied that challenge wins were a huge factor in getting me here. Pre-merge, I had an important role in winning tribal challenges, and in the merge I won five individual immunities in a row. Some of these individual immunities were definitely needed, since after Brenda's elimination I ended up on the wrong side of numbers and lost control over what would happen in the rounds after that. While getting to the end by immunity wins is not always seen as the most respectable way of getting there, I can at least say that I won these challenges myself and hence didn't need to rely on decisions of others to get myself far into the game.
I didn't just rely on challenge wins though. Coming into this, I had a huge target on my back both for my challenge wins and for making it far twice in a row, yet I managed to work with a lot of people and to gain their trust. Having so many ties kept me safe pre-merge and could have kept me safe had I lost immunity in the merge. Parvati was the very first to offer me something, which was at the beginning of AS2. While I'm not a big fan of pre-game stuff, she did show me she still had the intentions of working with me right before the start of UG. In addition, Brenda and I got very close after my original season, and I believe around the end of AS2, she formed the ABC alliance between herself, Chelsea, and myself. Since that time I've been very close to Brenda, and regardless of the many ties I had, this one I was never going to break. Brenda and Chelsea also worked with Parvati and Misty, and that's how an alliance of five came together. Then there was Michelle, who came to me at the start of UG and expressed her interest in working with me to the very end. She provided me with a LOT of information during the first vote when people tried to convince her to vote Parvati, and at several other instances. Quite naturally she became the sixth of the alliance, but her and I were much closer than people suspected I believe. Two rounds into the game, I also got closer to Jess. Even though I had written her name down in the first vote, I regretted that and tried to make up for it by basically giving her immunity in the third round. Working with her felt like Kalahari all over again, which was definitely a positive. I was going to help her out as she wasn't in the best position within our tribe, but once we hit the merge it was me and a lot of my allies needing help. Plans were made to save Brenda and Chelsea, but for several reasons these plans failed at the last minute. As if I didn't have enough ties already, Jess also formed a threesome between herself, Austin, and myself. So from that point on I also worked with Austin while my ties with Michelle were quickly fading and my other allies got eliminated one by one. I went balls to the wall to save each and every one of them, but the numbers and items to do so just weren't there. Jess was closer to Tracy and Heidi than to my allies, so it only made sense for her to not make a move that would upset them or hurt their chances.
So yeah, I had close ties with a lot of people, and keeping those ties intact was definitely necessary in case I would ever lose immunity. I fought hard for myself and my own chances, but I didn't sit back when one of my allies was in danger. And while I lied on several occasions about the ties I had, these lies were necessary in order to not reveal too much information about the alliances that I had. I wasn't going to sell one alliance out to the other. In a way I was lucky that I never had to make a choice to take one alliance over the other, but on the other hand it's been really frustrating seeing my allies get the boot as I wanted to go to the end with them. All in all, I may not have had a lot of influence on who went each round, but regardless of that I've had alliances everywhere and thus had a major impact on the game.
Lastly, sheer luck was involved in bringing me here. I believe luck is always a factor, but seeing as I 'lucked out' that Heidi went MIA in the final round, it's just more apparent in my case. With so many quitters, many of us had some sheer luck or bad luck at some point. It might leave a feeling of "if this didn't happen, then... .... if that would have happened then...", but it is what it is now. So regardless of all the could have beens and would have beens, given how hard I worked in the immunity challenges and how hard I fought to get here, I believe I at least deserve the chance to defend my case here.
Thanks you all for being great allies, friends, and competitors during the game. I really enjoyed playing this game with all of you. Furthermore, thanks for your time reading this and sorry to be so long winded. I will gladly answer any questions you may have, and I hope you will consider voting for me as The Ultimate Player of the Amanda Survivor series. Best of luck DD, may the best man win
