So, just saw the first episode.
WHAT. THE. CRAP.
I actually had that reaction twice. The first time was for the very, very obvious reason. The secnod was at Rory suicidally not being able to figure out that the Dalek was not saying "Eggs" but "Exterminate."
I actually told Robette that I was pretty certain that this was alternate-timeline Rory of some kind, because that made a hell of lot more sense than, "Rory magically forgot the Daleks' catchphrase for a second, so it could foreshadow the end of the episode."
Also, Jenna-Louise whatsername's appointment as the next companion was talked about in several prominent English newspapers while I was over there, AND they talked about it during the convention. What the crap is with that business? Are we going to meet up with past her? HUH? WHAT?
So, yeah, that's my reaction.

ohh you finally watched it. I think she'll be just who she is, his Dalek companion. They said she'd be the very last person we expected in a companion, so he'll probably be roaming around with a Dalek, we'll just see her in her dream state but everyone else will see her as his archenemy! I loved the whole "egg" gimmick. If I recall I think Rory never met the Daleks. I think he might've met one before the universe rebooted back in Cleopatra time before he waited a century for Amy or something like that.

Yeah, I could definitely see them sustaining her in the dream state, which would certainly be interesting.
Also, when she was like, "What's a term for smashingly brilliant but modest but slightly sexy?" I totally turned to Robette and was like, "Yeah, I never how to describe myself either."
And, yeah, I'd need to go over that again. I know he definitely met the one in the universe reboot at the end of series 5, but I'm kinda fuzzy on 6 since I was all England-movey about then, and missed out on a lot of life. But I'm sure he's familiar with them in some way.

It will be funny if we see the Adventures of the Doctor and the Dalek with the Dalek roaming around with the Doctor. I kinda wanna see it, but I feel it might get old fast especially if she's giong to be a compainon for 2 or 3 seasons.

She gave me one of those patented "Rob, you're being egotistical again, and even though I probably agree with you I have to pretend not to for the sake of deflating your ego" looks.
She's very expressive, is Robette.

Finally got around to watching Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. Pretty decent concept, but Riddell annoyed the hell out of me, and I absolutely hated that Nefertiti stayed with him. Like... seriously... what?
Town Called Mercy was also pretty decent. I liked seeing the merciless side of the Doctor. Interested to see the next episode. I hear it's the last hurrah for Amy and Rory, no clue if that's true, but I kinda hope not...

OMG Angels Take Manhattan in a few days. I have some interesting theories about this episode that involve possibly the biggest statue in all of Manhattan.

Yeah, I actually heard that theory from a friend a while back, before I even heard about this episode. Ten to one Lady Liberty's an angel...

Yup I think they want to show some American emphasis which is why they've been going to the US a lot recently. Silence in UTAH etc. I just wonder how the Pond's story will come to a close.

Am I the only one who spent that entire episode screaming, "RIVER!! Just give him the @#$@ vortex manipulator!!!"

Am I the only one who spent that entire episode screaming, "RIVER!! Just give him the @#$@ vortex manipulator!!!" Noope I did too. I don't know why he didn't, but at the same time he couldve gone back outside of Manhattan and driven there also. But I guess the paradox would be so large had he tried to rescue them it would be inevitable he had to leave them behind. I MISS THEM ALREADY.
